Flex credits are Salesforce's mechanism for tracking usage of agents. Flex credits cost £0.004 each, and it costs 20 Flex credits to launch a custom action.

Actions are how agents get things done. Agents include a library of actions, which are the tools an agent can use to do its job.
For example, if an end user asks about the product on offer, the agent first selects a subagent, then launches an action that retrieves information about the product from Salesforce (description, pricing, etc.) and presents it to the user.
Similarly, if the user expresses the intent to sign up, a subagent will be selected which launches an action that updates CRM data in Salesforce (e.g. updating an Opportunity Stage, sending a DocuSign document by email, etc.).
Another example might be the end user asking to speak to a human, which selects a subagent that launches an action to transfer the chat to a human, create a task in Salesforce, or email a support desk.
Every action consumes 20 Flex credits.
A conversation is when an agent is engaged, and an interaction begins between a human and the agent. The conversation stays active until the user closes their browser tab or actively ends the chat.
