Every other month Salesforce introduces new tools and platforms and sometimes an upgrade to a whole new level. Let’s dive into the most important points from the October 2021 Release Notes and tell you how this can help your business.

IOS 15: Updates and Enhancements

Some email clients are making changes to their privacy protections, which can have an influence on open rates. A new privacy feature that prevents senders from exploiting invisible pixels to collect information about Apple users who have opted in to the changes. ‘Mail Privacy Protection’ stops senders from collecting information about when and where an email is accessed, including whether the receiver views it on a mobile device or a desktop computer.

What are the benefits?

With this update, it ensures that your team is up to date and understands the impact of privacy changes. In response to these privacy restrictions, certain Einstein apps now employ an engagement rate statistic rather than a typical open rate number which will make decisions based on accurate data.

Mobile Marketing Enhancements

Gain even deeper insights with your customers with the new update of Mobile SDK as you can now use Mobile App Events. The MobilePush SDK can arrange journeys depending on user activity.

What are the benefits?

Create, define and organize journeys in real time all based on the user behaviour. Add event triggers to your in-app messages to drive user behaviour, and optimise in-app message timing with better display options. This will boost your understanding of users as you are able to connect the Mobile app SDK to Journey Builder in real time, keeping up to date with the users action. On that note, you can also view your journey metrics on the new Journey History interface.

Interaction Studio – Journey Builder Activity

Seamlessly pass data from Journey Builder to Interaction Studio as it now allows you to share the data to personalize your business experiences across channels in real time.

What are the benefits?

For example, a Halloween Journey, with the help of this new release, now when we open the Mobile App there will be banners and recommendations targeted to the Journey I’m on. You can share Datasets, Actions, Identifiers, and Attributes which will enable customers to create triggers/segments to establish a consistent experience. On top of that, you can personalize across all channels such as CRM, mobile, web, emails etc.

Pardot: Extensibility Enhancements

Now let’s deep dive into the Extensibility Enhancements, streamlining your martech stack and enabling you to work faster and more efficiently. This release covers 2 new releases, Customer Components and External Activity so let’s get started!

What are the benefits?

As a Marketer, we sometimes use multiple marketing applications, however with this new release, you can now connect third party apps so you can easily leverage external assets, information and data right in pardot. You can also further personalize your touch points for every customer across the entire journey as you can use that rich engagement data that was collected in your external systems. There’s more.. No need to use code, just use clicks, which makes it easier for every pardot user.
